The basic principle of POS system is to first create the commodity data in the computer file. Through the on-line structure of the computer cash register, the bar code on the commodity can be directly read in through the optical reading device on the cash register (or enter the code directly through the keyboard) and then the commodity information (unit price, department, discount,.etc.) can be displayed immediately to accelerate the speed and correctness of the cash register. The sales details of each commodity (sales price, department, time period, customer level) are recorded automatically, and then sent back to the computer by online architecture. Through computer calculation and processing, various sales statistics and analysis information can be generated as the basis of operation and management.
The POS machine reads the magnetic stripe information of the cardholder on the bank card through the card reader, the POS operator inputs the transaction amount, the cardholder inputs the personal identification information (i.e. password), the POS machine sends these information to the card issuing bank system through the UnionPay center, completes the online transaction, sends the information of success or failure, and prints the corresponding receipt. The application of POS machine realizes the on-line consumption of credit card, debit card and other bank cards, ensures the safety, rapidity and accuracy of the transaction, avoids the complicated labor such as manual query of blacklist, and improves the work efficiency.
Internal analysis
The communication interface circuit is usually composed of RS232 interface, PINPAD interface, IRDA interface and RS485 interface. RS232 interface is usually the POS program download interface, PINPAD interface is usually the host and password keyboard interface, IRDA interface is usually used as infrared communication interface between mobile phone and host computer. The interface signal is usually composed of a transmitting signal, a receiving signal and a power supply signal.
The MODEM board consists of central processing module, memory module, MODEM module and telephone line interface. First of all, POS machine will first detect / ring and / phone signals to determine whether the voltage on the telephone line can be used, the switch returns a dial tone, POS dials, the sending light flashes and starts dialing, the communication protocol determines the handshake confirmation of the signal between the switch and POS, and then the POS data exchange is started, and the signal is sent and received through the MODEM circuit; after that, hang up and end the process.
